First off, let me just say that Amanda is such a trooper because I had her hiking all over the foothills for this shoot. I told her my vision for getting some golden hour shots up on the hills at Camel’s Back Park in Boise, but the catch was that she would have to hike up some pretty steep terrain, pregnant, AND in a dress. She shrugged it off and said she was up for the challenge.

After all the trouble I had getting pregnant, I had a relatively easy and uneventful 9 months of pregnancy. However, I did start having Braxton Hicks contractions as early as about 22 weeks. Around 32 weeks, they were happening pretty regularly, especially in the evenings. Since I’d never had a baby before, I wasn’t sure what the difference would be between true labor contractions and Braxton Hicks.

My husband and I met Jake and Hannah at our church a few months after we got married. That spring our church did a short study on marriage and we found ourselves in a study group with them. I am so grateful we got to know them over the 6 week study because they are now some of our closest friends.
