I first met the McGrath family for their maternity photos on a chilly January day. They welcomed a beautiful baby girl in March and we did their newborn photos in their newly remodeled home.

The weather is finally warming up, blooms are budding and the ground is taking life again. Spring is a beautiful time for family photos and my favorite season in Boise. But perhaps one of your first questions is, “What should we wear?”

A few weeks ago I hosted a series of motherhood mini sessions and my goal with these session was to capture moms in their element; playing and interacting with their kids as well as loving on and being loved on by their kids.

This session was a chilly one, but you wouldn’t know it because Milla’s warm and fun personality brought all the heat! A soon to be graduate of Boise High School, Milla was an honor to photograph for her senior portraits.

Just when you are going to be an all girl family, you are surprised with a baby boy to add to the family! This family waited until the birth to find out the gender of their baby, and even though mama was convinced it would be another girl, all three of the sisters said they thought it would be a boy and OH BOY they were right!

Photography is an art, there is no doubt about that, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t technique and technical aspects to master. There are definitely considerations when it comes to the difference between amateur and professional photography

If I could have a winter full of newborn sessions where I can stay out of the cold and get to snuggle all the newborn babes, I would be a happy photographer. Corbin’s newborn shoot was no exception.
