At the beginning of the summer here in Idaho we had a few days that were very cloudy. Often as photographers, we can get caught up in wanting the famed golden hour light, and so clouds in the forecast can be a bit of a downer. I had such a blast capturing West’s senior portraits. West wanted her portraits done in the spring when flowers were in bloom, but needed to submit a photo for the yearbook by January. At the time it was already fall, past prime flower blooming. So I suggested we split her session into a fall shoot and a spring shoot.

Sasha is graduating from The Ambrose School in Meridian. For her senior portraits we had fun incorporating one of her favorite hobbies, archery. Sasha is a sweetheart and was up for anything I threw her way during the session. I had her climbing a tree, frolicking in a field (in heels) and and laying down in the grass.

First off, let me just say that Amanda is such a trooper because I had her hiking all over the foothills for this shoot. I told her my vision for getting some golden hour shots up on the hills at Camel’s Back Park in Boise, but the catch was that she would have to hike up some pretty steep terrain, pregnant, AND in a dress. She shrugged it off and said she was up for the challenge.
