Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I pick a Location for my shoot?
A: I am happy to provide location ideas and encourage you to pick a location that is meaningful to you, or matches the look and feel of the photos you hope to capture. I suggest choosing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd location choice for me to review. I will review your choice to ensure there are no concerns with lighting, scenery, time of day, or conflicting events. You can review some of my local Boise location ideas here.
Q: Do you offer advice on what to wear for my photo session?
A: I am happy to give advice on what I think looks best in photos, as well as any colors or prints to avoid. I also posted a blog on this topic, check it out here!
Q: Do you offer prints?
A: Yes! Along with your online gallery, you will have access to my online print shop which offers a large variety of top-tier quality prints, canvases, and photo albums.
Q: Do you retouch images?
A: My policy on retouching is to remove any blemishes that appear temporary. For example, if your son fell down and got a scrape on his face just two days before your session, don’t fret, this is something that I can remove from the photograph. However, I may leave temporary skin imperfections if I feel they add to the overall story being told in the image. A good example of this is with a newborn baby. Often newborns have wrinkly or flaky skin on their feet or ankles and I prefer to keep it because it helps to tell the story of their adjustment to life outside the womb.
Q: Do you travel?
A: Yes! I am available for day travel (within 2-3 hrs of Boise) for an additional mileage fee. I am also willing to travel outside of my regular service area for special events. Please contact me for specific requests.
Q: What is all of this going to cost?
A: I believe that choosing to purchase professional photos is an investment in capturing your family’s legacy that you can’t put a price tag on. But I totally get it, what all of this is going to cost is often one of the first questions that comes to mind. For this reason, I outline my pricing here.
Q: Do you require a retainer to reserve a date?
A: I do ask for a retainer at the time of booking to reserve the session date. The specific amount of the retainer will be outlined in your contract, and is applied toward the session fee. The retainer is non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the client.
