Guess Family // Little Corona Del Mar Beach, CA // Family Session

The first week in October, we had the opportunity to visit my sister’s family in Long Beach, CA. It was Asher’s first airplane ride, first time meeting his cousins and other extended family, and first time to the beach! Living in Idaho, I don’t often get the opportunity to do a beach photoshoot, and so I practically begged my sister to allow me take their family photos at the beach. I last took Matt and Heather’s family photos over two years and so it was a lot of fun to take some updated photos for them as the kids grow.

Emery and Grayson love the beach and don’t hesitate to jump right in the water. Directly before the shoot, Asher needed to be fed, and so Matt and Heather headed down to the beach ahead of me with the kids. By the time Asher and I got down there, the kids were stripped down to their underwear and playing in the water. “Did the clothes make it off before the kids got wet!” I asked Heather, laughing. “Just barely!” was her response. I just love the wild, unreserved play of the kids and that it gave the photos an authentic “little bit sandy and windblown” look.
